In-Depth Lenovo Laptop Reviews
#1: Lenovo Legion Y530 (Best Lenovo Laptop for Gaming)
If you are looking for a Lenovo laptop ideal for gaming, the Lenovo Legion Y530 is just the badass laptop you need for all those heavy, graphic-intensive games lik FIFA 19, GTA V etc.
No products found.
You want crystal clear, smooth graphics, right? That is why the Legion has been equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Graphics card.
And yes, the unit has a dedicated 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card which takes the load off the RAM allowing you better rendering, faster playbacks, better graphics etc. (a luxury every laptop is better off with).
Processor and RAM
To give you a power-packed performance, the laptop has an 8th Gen i5-8300H processor and an 8GB RAM so multi-tasking between your movies, games etc. can be done without any hitches.
So enjoy the best of both the worlds when it comes to disk drives, the Legion comes with a 1TB HDD and also a 128GB SSD.
This means you get ample storage for all your games, movies, Images, Videos etc. plus, you can enjoy the speed boost and better responsiveness of an SSD. Not to forget 128GB is plenty of storage space as well if need be.
Display and Sound
Giving you surreal gaming or even movie experience is Full-HD 15.6-inch screen that can capture over 2-million pixels and 300nits of brightness.
Add to the razor-thin bezels and we promise the surreal display will have you hooked to your laptop for hours to come.
And it won’t even hurt your eyes or leave them red and droopy as the display in anti-glare
Along with the display, what really gets the juices flowing during those tense hours of battle or thrilling races is excellent sound. And giving you virtual surround sound quality are the Dolby Audio Premium Speakers
Overheating is a common gaming problem but not anymore. Thanks to the dual-channel thermal cooling system and 4 thermal vents that allow optimum airflow, your laptop remains cool as a cucumber even after hours of gaming.
The Ergonomic design of the keyboard makes gaming easy while with the backlight of the keyboard, you no longer have to worry about gaming even in the dark.
There are three 3.0 USB ports for lightning-fast data transfers (speeds can reach up to a whopping 10GBPS).
A standout feature of the laptop is Cortana. This Windows 10 Digital Assistant will happily answer the silliest of questions, set reminders, read appoints etc. (yup, you just found yourself a new best friend).
It also has a pretty decent battery backup of 4-5 hours with heavy gaming and 7-8 hours with light usage.
As for the downsides, the laptop will cost you well over 90k.
Plus, an i7 Processor would have made the laptop even more powerful and ideal for heavier tasks.
Lastly, while the refresh rate of 60Hz is pretty low. Yup, there is a 144Hz version of the laptop as well but it is not available in India. So what does this mean?
In simple words, the response time to your clicks will be a little slower (just makes getting those pin-point accurate headshots tougher).
#2: Lenovo Ideapad 530s
The Ideapad is one of Lenovo’s most popular series and the 530s model is hands down the fastest and most powerful of Ideapads you will come across in the India market and here is why.
No products found.
Not a powerful beast like the Legion but nonetheless, the 530s has a pretty good graphics card in the NVIDIA GeForce MX150. This GPU Unit with 2GB Dedicated RAM not only accelerates day to day tasks but can also tackle light gaming, video and photo editing etc.
Processor and RAM
This laptop too is equipped with an 8th Gen Intel i5-8250U Processor and an 8GB RAM. So when it comes to high-speed performance even when multitasking, the 530s sure can pack a punch just like any mid-range laptop.
With a 512GB SSD, your laptop does not just have plenty of storage space but the SSD is also way quicker than any HDD.
So while all your videos, movies, games, images etc. can easily be backed up on the laptop, there is also quicker boot and load times, better responsiveness etc. that is like the yummy icing on the cake.
The 50% lesser bevels give you a larger 14-inch display. But bigger isn’t good alone, what about the clarity?
Well, the Full-HD display has just the right amount of brightness and contrast so you get vividly clear images whether you are watching movies or playing games
And complimenting the display well are the Dolby Audio Speaker the create a cutting edge surround sound that does not distort even that higher volumes (no headphone or Bluetooth speaker? No problem).
Oh, and before I forget, this too is an IPS Anti-Glare screen so whether it is work or play, tired, red eyes won’t be a blockade anymore.
One of the standout features of the 530s is Rapid Charge. The battery life is average during heavy usage which means the rapid comes in more hand than you would think. So what does it really do?
In just 15-minutes, you get about 2 hours of battery life so you get back to the important stuff in quick-time (that is on the go charging at its best).
The 530s also gives you the power over who can or cannot use your laptop at your very fingertips with the in-built sophisticated fingerprint scanner.
So if you are bad at remembering passwords, this gives you access to your laptop in mere seconds.
When the going gets hot protecting the 530s from overheating is the upgraded cooling system that combines the power of dual action fans to keep things nice and cool.
Furthermore, the rubber footing allows for easy airflow from beneath the laptop so you can even use the laptop on a flat surface without any hassle of overheating.
Giving super fast data transferring speeds are the three 3.0 USB Ports while the 1×1 AC Wi-Fi ensures you have a strong connection even when further away from the modem.
The laptop is also ultralight at 1.5Kgs and is compact enough to easily fit into any backpack for easy carrying.
Lastly, it comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office 2016 and that I guess is something everybody uses whether it writing letters, preparing presentations etc.
On the downsides, the battery life could have been better but nonetheless, the fast charging helps.
Also, it does not support high-end games which may lag as the graphics card and processor are not powerful enough.
#3: Lenovo Ideapad 330 (Best Lenovo Laptop on a Budget)
Are you a tight budget? Lenovo’s got something in store for you as well with their Ideapad 330. Read more about this pocket-friendly laptop below.

Processor and RAM
Firing up the laptop is the AMD A4-9125 processor which considering the lower price range is actually pretty good and even clocks at 2.3GHz for faster data processing.
Combine that with a 4GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB HDD and you get a package that gives you plenty of room to store everything you would be using in a laptop like images, tons of videos, games etc. while giving you the freedom to multitask as well.
Since we are on the topic of games, will it handle the ever-popular PUBG or Fortnite? With 4GB RAM, an AMD processor and the integrated graphics card, it sure can take your long hours on the battlefield (though that is as much as it can handle).
For the same, the laptop also features a 15.6-inch HD display with anti-glare coating, a feature and screen size rarely seen in a low budget laptop (no more red eyes from binge-watching on Netflix or late night game sessions).
While the 2-3 hour battery life is just what any budget laptop is primed to deliver, it is the fast charging feature that we love about most Ideapads.
15-minutes of chargers and you can peacefully enjoy uninterrupted gaming or work for the next 2-3 hours.
Also, while it comes with only a 1TB HDD if you want to an upgrade on its performance feel free to switch to an SSD as and when you can. This is sure to give your laptop a speed boost without compromising on disk space.
You also get a USB 3.0 ports so all your data transfers can be done at speeds that only take minutes to transfer even the largest of files. How fast? How about 10 freaking GBPS.
The Photos App integrated with the new Windows 10 allows you to tell your story with both photos and videos as adding transitions, effects etc. is easier than ever.
You can also share your finished content with your social media follower with just a few clicks (a feature any traveler is sure to love).
The build is also quite good for a cheaper laptop and it weighs just about 2kgs.
Well, one of the few issues with this laptop is that does not support the more advanced games like GTA V or Hitman etc.
Also, the sound quality is not that good so we would recommend you get a good set of headphones for a better viewing experience.
While the HDD is quite large, it does not match the performance an SSD can deliver. Yup, you can add in an SSD but that will add to the overall cost.
The Battery life could have been better.
While not the most powerful of laptops, for anyone on a budget, the 20k price tag is sure to be eye-catching. Not forget, it can handle day to tasks pretty well which makes it the best Lenovo Laptop in India for budget buyers.
#4: Lenovo Ideapad 330s
The 330s is very similar to the 330 itself in terms of design and build but there are a few stark differences.
First and foremost, this laptop features an Intel Processor. The 8th Gen i3 Processor of the 330s clocks at 2.4GHz and turbo boost to about 3.4GHz which means it processes most faster than most laptops in the same price range.
Secondly, it has a 14-inch Full-HD screen and while that is smaller than the 330, it is just as bright and captures colors just as beautifully for lifelike clarity.
Making viewing easy on the eye is the anti-glare display. Further adding go that are the thinner bezels which give the screen more space so you can get a clearer view even from different angles.
Its battery life is a little higher at about 5 hours and yes, you have the added bonus of fast charging.
So when you are running out of battery, a 15-minute charge boost should give you an additional 2 hours to get the work done.
The 4GB RAM DDR4 RAM is pretty smooth and in combination with the integrated graphics card, it can easily handle basic computing tasks.
For all the data, the 1TB HDD provides space aplenty. Plus, you can switch to an SSD as well in case you are looking to upgrade for more speed.
The integrated graphics card may not be a powerhouse like a dedicated one but is great for basic computing tasks and in tandem with the 4GB RAM can tackle light multi-tasking.
To keep the system cool, the laptop uses dual-action fans. Plus, there is rubber footing that provides free air flow so hot air does not get collected on the inside.
The laptop features a backlit keyboard for comfortable typing even in the dark and a 180-degree hinge which not only prevents damage to the screen but also gives you an excellent view for any angle.
For all your appointments and booking, Cortana, the Windows 10 Digital Assistant will be at your service anytime.
The sound quality is also pretty decent especially when compared to the 330 model and internet connectivity is strong so your connection remains uninterrupted.
Lastly, you get multiple USB 3.0 ports for quick data transfers.
First and foremost, the laptop does not have the features to support any graphic-intensive activities be it games or video editing etc. be it the processor or the graphics card.
The sound system of the laptop could have been even better.
Also, you cannot enjoy the benefits of an SSD though you have the option of upgrading to it as and when need be.
#5: Lenovo Yoga 520 (Best Lenovo Laptop for Travelers)
Who isn’t a traveler these days, right? But being a travel freak does not necessarily mean compromising on work especially if you have a handy laptop like the Yoga 520 by your side and here’s why.
What we like
One of the features that makes it so perfect for on the go use is the 360-degree hinge which means you can use it as a tablet, a laptop or even use it in tent mode.
Secondly, the laptop is a touchscreen model which makes adjusting settings, switching between tabs etc. a breeze (a simple swipe with the fingers is all that is needed).
It also gives you a whopping battery life of 8-10 hours. This allows you to work, watch movies etc. without the hassle of having to run for your charger and power outlets for almost an entire day.
Lastly, it is light and super compact as well which means it easily fits into any handbag or backpack so you do not have to carry a separate laptop bag everywhere.
As for the configurations, it has a standard 8th Gen i3 processor which is teamed up with a decent 4GB RAM and integrated Graphics card. The processor clocks at 2.4GHz and Turbo boosts to 3.4GHz when needed.
Not something too special but nonetheless, for a laptop costing less than Rs. 50,000, it is pretty good.
For watching movies, playing PUBG or even editing the occasional group pic for Instagram, you would want a clear display, right?
Thankfully, the 14-inch display in Full-HD and captured colors and contrast to give you a beautiful viewing experience. And since it has an anti-glare coating, it has a lesser strain on the eyes as well.
You also get an Active Pen for operating the system (Photoshop users, this is something you guys will find really handy).
Accessing the system is hassle-free as well as you won’t be left scratching your head trying to remember the password. All it needs is your fingerprint which guarantees you both safety and quick access.
On the downsides, the integrated graphics card limits the ability of the laptop as it does not support gaming or any other big tasks.
Also, it does not have an SSD so booting etc. is going to be comparatively slower.
Another thing I did not like about the laptop is its sound quality. Average at low volumes to say the least so you would be better off with headphone if like your songs or movies loud.
Lenovo is not just one of the biggest brands in India but also overseas which means irrespective of what your needs are, Lenovo always has a laptop for you.
And this buyer’s guide for the best Lenovo laptops in India we have picked out the best for each need so buying a new laptop does not have you a headache.
